Regular Season Round 19: Rosa II Radom - Novum Lublin 72-62

There was a surprise result when eleventh ranked Rosa II Radom (6-11) defeated at home higher ranked Novum Lublin (8-10) 72-62 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 9 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 10 points. Rosa II Radom outrebounded Novum Lublin 40-27 including 25 on the defensive glass. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Rosa II Radom made 8 blocks. It was a great evening for center Maciej Maj (201-88) who led his team to a victory scoring 8 points and 9 rebounds. Lukasz Sobuta (-92) helped adding 12 points. At the losing side forward Bartosz Ciechocinski (201-91) responded with 12 points and 7 rebounds and swingman Jakub Karolak (192-93) scored 17 points. Four Novum Lublin players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Newly promoted Rosa II Radom maintains eleventh place in Group C with 6-11 record. Loser Novum Lublin dropped to the eighth position with ten games lost. Rosa II Radom will face higher ranked Staco MNLK (#7) in Niepolomice in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
