The game in was also quite interesting. Fifth ranked Thompson Rivers (9-9) played at the court of 6th ranked UBC Okanagan (2-16). Thompson Rivers defeated UBC Okanagan 69-59 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Thompson Rivers. UBC Okanagan was better in second period 17-9. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Thompson Rivers forced 23 UBC Okanagan turnovers and outrebounded them 44-26 including 29 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for guard Jen Ju (170) who led her team to a victory with 23 points and 5 steals. Center Diane Schuetze (191) contributed with 9 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Center Roslyn Huber (182) answered with 21 points and 5 rebounds and guard Emily Kanester (168) added 18 points and 4 steals in the effort for UBC Okanagan. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Thompson Rivers. They moved-up to third place, which they share with TWU. UBC Okanagan lost their eleventh game in a row. They keep the sixth position with 16 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
