Regular Season Round 36: Saitama Bron. - Miyazaki SS 78-73

There was a minor upset when 7th ranked Miyazaki Shining Suns (14-18) were defeated on the road by tenth ranked Saitama Broncos (9-20) 78-73 on Sunday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Miyazaki Shining Suns won fourth quarter 20-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Miyazaki Shining Suns 44-30 including 33 on the defensive glass. The game was dominated by American players. Worth to mention a great performance of forward John Flowers (200-89, college: W.Virginia, agency: KMG Sports Management) who helped to win the game recording 37 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds and forward Jayme Miller (203-85) who added 19 points and 19 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was swingman Dexter Lyons (198-81, college: Cent.Florida, agency: I.D.S. Law) with 13 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists and center Darryl Dora (206-85, college: Texas Tech) scored 14 points and 9 rebounds. Saitama Broncos moved-up to ninth place. Loser Miyazaki Shining Suns keep the seventh position with 18 games lost. Saitama Broncos will face league's second-placed Osaka Evessa at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
