Bottom-ranked Jiangsu Dragons managed to get a eighth victory, breaking the series of seven consecutive loses on Sunday night. This time they edged fifth-ranked Zhejiang Guangsha Lions in Nanjing 110-107. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Zhejiang Guangsha Lions. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions trailed by 12 points after 3 quarters before a 34-25 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 107-110 at the end of the game. Jiangsu Dragons made 36-of-46 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Zhejiang Guangsha Lions turnovers. Strangely Zhejiang Guangsha Lions outrebounded Jiangsu Dragons 58-34 including a 19-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. The former international guard XueFeng Hu (185-80) stepped up and scored 32 points, 6 assists and 4 steals for the winners and the former international swingman Da Meng (196-82) chipped in 27 points and 6 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American forward Wilson Chandler (203-87, college: De Paul) with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 20 rebounds and American-Puerto Rican center Peter John Ramos (222-85) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Jiangsu Dragons maintains seventeenth place with 8-23 record. Loser Zhejiang Guangsha Lions dropped to the sixth position with 14 games lost. They share it with Shanghai S. and Fujian XX. Jiangsu Dragons will meet at home higher ranked Jilin Tigers (#12) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions will play against the league's second-placed Beijing Ducks (#2) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
