Very expected game in Mar del Plata where 14th ranked Quilmes MP (6-16) was defeated by fourth ranked Libertad Sunchales (15-7) 73-66 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 10 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 7 points. American forward Joshua Pittman (197-76, college: NC-Asheville, agency: Dream Team Management) fired 20 points for the winners. The other American import center Robert Battle (204-81, college: Drexel, agency: Dream Team Management) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points and 14 rebounds. Naturalized American guard Phillip McHopson (188-87, college: Idaho) produced 16 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and American-Venezuelan forward Clarence Matthews (201-83, college: Tennessee St.) added 14 points, 5 rebounds and 4 blocks respectively for lost side. Four Quilmes MP players scored in double figures. Libertad Sunchales moved-up to third place, which they share with Sionista. Newly promoted Quilmes MP dropped to the fifteenth position with 16 games lost. Libertad Sunchales will meet at home league's leader Penarol in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Quilmes MP will play against Boca Juniors (#12) in Buenos Aires and hope to secure a win.
