Very important is a home loss of third ranked Hitachi Sunrockers (17-13) against sixth ranked Hokkaido L. (13-17) on Sunday night. Host Hitachi Sunrockers were defeated by Hokkaido L. in a tough game in Osaka 73-79. The guests trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 79-73. It was a good game for German power forward Tilo Klette (206-77) who led his team to a victory with 17 points and 9 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). The former international guard Takehiko Orimo (190-70) contributed with 20 points and 4 assists for the winners. International power forward Joji Takeuchi (206-85, agency: N.E.T.) answered with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists and international guard Fumio Nishimura (177-86) added 12 points and 4 assists in the effort for Hitachi Sunrockers. Hitachi Sunrockers' coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Hokkaido L. maintains sixth place with 13-17 record. Loser Hitachi Sunrockers keep the third position with 13 games lost. Hokkaido L. will face league's leader Aishin Sea Horses in Kariya in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Hitachi Sunrockers will play on the road against Toshiba Thunders in Kanagawa.
