LEB Gold top team - Canarias (18-5) added another victory to their record on Sunday. This time they beat eighth ranked Girona FC (12-11) 88-83. Girona FC was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Canarias made 19-of-22 free shots (86.4 percent) during the game. It was a quality performance for American power forward Jakim Donaldson (204-83, college: Edinboro) who led the winners and scored 18 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Argentinian-Italian point guard Nicolas Richotti (181-86) accounted for 14 points and 4 steals for the winning side. Latvian power forward Rolands Freimanis (207-88, agency: Players Group) came up with 17 points and 7 rebounds and naturalized American power forward Darryl Middleton (203-66, college: Baylor) added 17 points respectively for Girona FC in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Girona FC's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Canarias maintains first place with 18-5 record. Loser Girona FC keeps the eighth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Leon. Canarias will meet at home Caceres 2016 (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Girona FC will play against the league's second-placed UB La Palma and hope to secure a win.
