Regular Season Round 17: Froya Basket - Langhus 102-54

Bottom-ranked Langhus IL is still unable to win any game. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they lost on the road their 18th consecutive match to second ranked Froya Basket (12-2) 102-54 on Sunday evening. The game without a history. Froya Basket led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Langhus IL's 28 and made 27-of-35 free shots (77.1 percent) during the game. Froya Basket forced 29 Langhus IL turnovers. The former international forward Miilah Kombat (200-88, college: N.Idaho JC) nailed 22 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side and Latvian guard Edmunds Gabrans (190-79) accounted for 20 points (perfect from the field making all six shots). Four Froya Basket players scored in double figures. Froya Basket's coach Ron Billingslea felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard David Crouch (-86) came up with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 12 rebounds and point guard Kjetil Christensen (180-84) added 10 points respectively for Langhus IL in the defeat. Froya Basket maintains second place with 12-2 record having six point less than leader Asker Aliens. Newly promoted Langhus IL still closes the standings. Froya Basket will meet league's leader Asker Aliens on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Langhus IL will have a break next round.
