Rather predictable result when sixth ranked Niigata Albirex (17-15) smashed on the road 9th ranked Iwate Big Bulls (9-23) 86-60 on Sunday. They outrebounded Iwate Big Bulls 51-29 including a 34-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. The game was dominated by American players. Worth to mention a great performance of power forward Chris Holm (212-84, college: Vermont) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 13 points, 22 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Nile Murry (193-83, college: TCU) who added 11 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Five Niigata Albirex players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was forward Thomas Kennedy (201-87, college: Detroit Mercy, agency: Global Sports Plaza) with 14 points and 5 rebounds and power forward LaShawn Malloy (209-84, college: New Orleans, agency: Pro Management Agency) scored 12 points and 8 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Niigata Albirex moved-up to third place, which they share with Shimane SM. Loser Iwate Big Bulls dropped to the tenth position with 23 games lost. Niigata Albirex will face Oita Heat Devils (#8) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Iwate Big Bulls will play against Shimane Magic.
