Very significant was Enel Brindisi's (#4) just 1-point road victory against 5th ranked Sigma Barcellona 70-69. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 23-15. But Sigma Barcellona won second period 14-10. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Enel Brindisi made 23-of-27 charity shots (85.2 percent) during the game. The winners were led by American guard Jimmy Hunter (196-77, college: Life) who scored that evening 19 points (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) and Serbian power forward Dejan Borovnjak (208-86, agency: Beo Basket) supported him with 17 points and 6 rebounds. Even 15 points by Lithuanian guard Mindaugas Lukauskis (198-79) did not help to save the game for Sigma Barcellona. Panamanian swingman Michael Hicks (193-76, college: Texas A&M-CC) added 14 points and 5 rebounds for the hosts. Enel Brindisi (12-6) moved-up to third place, which they share with Givova Scafati. Sigma Barcellona at the other side keeps the fifth position with seven games lost. They share it with Centrale Latte. Enel Brindisi will play against Fileni BPA (#7) in Jesi in the next round. Sigma Barcellona will play on the road against the league's second-placed Trenkwalder RE in Reggio Emilia and hopes to get back on the winning track.
