The game in Oita was also quite interesting. 7th ranked Chiba Jets (12-18) played at the court of eighth ranked Oita Heat Devils (10-21). Oita Heat Devils did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 89-72 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Oita Heat Devils. Chiba Jets was better in fourth quarter 16-15. Cummings (205-81, college: UCLA) who added 18 points and 13 rebounds during the contest. Five Oita Heat Devils players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American guard Jamel Staten (198-83, college: Minnesota St.) with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 11 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 steals and Cameroonian forward Gaston Moliva (202-85, college: Richmond) scored 9 points and 12 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Oita Heat Devils maintains eighth position with 10-21 record. Loser Chiba Jets keep the seventh place with 18 games lost. Oita Heat Devils will face higher ranked Niigata Albirex (#3) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
