Regular Season Round 19: 36ers - Crocodiles 79-74

Bottom-ranked Adelaide 36ers managed to get a sixth victory, breaking the series of six consecutive loses on Sunday night. This time they won against fifth-ranked Townsville Crocodiles in Findon 79-74. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 17-11. But Townsville Crocodiles won second period 23-21. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Adelaide 36ers looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a great evening for American forward Diamon Simpson (201-87, college: St.Mary's, CA) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds. Center Daniel Johnson (212-88, college: Pepperdine) helped adding 20 points and 7 rebounds. At the losing side American point guard Edward Gill (184-78, college: Weber St., agency: Priority Sports) responded with 20 points and 5 assists and the other American import forward Elvin Mims (196-79, college: S.Mississippi) scored 14 points and 7 rebounds. Adelaide 36ers maintains ninth place with 6-15 record. Loser Townsville Crocodiles keep the fifth position with nine games lost. Adelaide 36ers will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Townsville Crocodiles will play against Gold Coast Blaze (#4) in Broadbeach and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
