Regular Season Round 33: Beijing Ducks - Shanghai S. 93-78

There was no surprise when 5th ranked Shanghai Sharks (17-14) were defeated on the road by second ranked Beijing Ducks (21-10) 93-78 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Beijing Ducks. Shanghai Sharks was better in second period 21-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Beijing Ducks made 19-of-21 free shots (90.5 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American power forward Randolph Morris (211-86, college: Kentucky) who scored 24 points and 6 rebounds. Forward Zhe Ji (202-89) chipped in 20 points and 6 rebounds. Four Beijing Ducks players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Marcus Landry (201-85, college: Wisconsin) who recorded 18 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import forward Mike Harris (198-83, college: Rice) added 15 points and 10 rebounds respectively. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Beijing Ducks maintains second place with 21-10 record having five points less than leader Guandong ST. Loser Shanghai Sharks dropped to the sixth position with 14 games lost. Beijing Ducks will face Zhejiang Guangsha Lions (#8) in Hangzhou in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Shanghai Sharks will play on the road against TianJin Rongcheng in Tianjin.
