Regular Season Round 27: St.Mary's - Memorial 70-59

An interesting game for Huskies (11-6) which hosted in Halifax, NS 4th placed Memorial (9-7). Third ranked Huskies managed to get a 11-point victory 70-59. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Memorial. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 11-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 70-59. Huskies dominated on the defensive end, holding Memorial to just 4 points in fourth quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Memorial's 26. Huskies forced 23 Memorial turnovers. It was an exceptional evening for international guard Justine Colley (175-91) who led the winners and scored 25 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Forward Naomie Fequiere accounted for 14 points for the winning side. Four Huskies players scored in double figures. Forward Robyn O'Rielly (178) came up with 15 points and forward Ally Forsey (191-90) added 12 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Memorial in the defeat. Memorial's coach Doug Partridge rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Huskies maintains third place with 11-6 record having ten points less than leader Windsor. Loser Memorial keeps the fourth position with seven games lost. Huskies will meet UNB (#7) in the next round. Memorial will have a break next round.
