There was a minor upset when 9th ranked Pall.Pozzuoli (5-11) was defeated on the road by eleventh ranked Cagliari CUS (3-13) 81-77 on Sunday. Pall.Pozzuoli trailed by 12 points at halftime and as many as 20 after three quarters before a 29-13 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 77-81 at the end of the game. Worth to mention a great performance of international forward Nnena Wabara (183-81, college: Baylor) who helped to win the game recording 14 points and 8 rebounds and American guard Latara Darrett (178-88, college: Prairie View A&M) who added 11 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. At the losing side American guard Kelly Mazzante (183-82, college: Penn St.) responded with 15 points and 7 rebounds and Serbian guard Milica Micovic (182-84, agency: Players Group) scored 17 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Cagliari CUS maintains eleventh position with 3-13 record. Loser Pall.Pozzuoli keeps the ninth place with 11 games lost. Cagliari CUS will meet higher ranked Lucca (#4) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
