Regular Season Round 6: Gaiteros - Panteras 98-105

Panteras can celebrate finally their first win this season after seven consecutive loses. The victory is especially important as it came on the road game in Maracaibo, where they defeated Gaiteros (2-6) 105-98 on Monday. Gaiteros trailed by 14 points after 3 quarters before a 32-25 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 98-105 at the end of the game. Panteras held Gaiteros to an opponent 0.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 0.0 percent accuracy of the winners. American guard Russell Carter (196-85, college: Notre Dame) scored 30 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import forward Kristian Clarkson (202-84, college: Widener, agency: TSS Management) chipped in 21 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was Trinidad and Tobago-American point guard Ian Young (191-81, college: Auburn, agency: Pro One Sports) with 20 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and American point guard Donald Sims (185-87, college: Appalachian St.) scored 23 points.
