Very important is a home loss of third ranked Guaiqueries (6-2) against fourth ranked Gigantes (5-3) on Tuesday night. Host Guaiqueries were defeated by Gigantes in a tough game in Porlamar 56-63. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Guaiqueries. The guests were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. Gigantes held Guaiqueries to an opponent 0.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 0.0 percent accuracy of the winners. It was an exceptional evening for American power forward Andrew Feeley (206-83, college: UMBC) who led the winners and scored 17 points and 5 rebounds. International center Jose Juan Bravo (202-86) accounted for 10 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side. Gigantes' coach Carl Herrera allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The former international forward Hernan Salcedo (198-80) came up with 11 points and 9 rebounds and the former international center Richard Lugo (209-73, college: St.Francis, NY) added 9 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Guaiqueries in the defeat. Four Guaiqueries players scored in double figures. Gigantes maintains fourth place with 5-3 record. Guaiqueries at the other side keep the third position with two games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
