Regular Season Round 18: Elitzur Ramla - Macc.B.Yaakov 87-79

National League round 18 caused change at the leadership position. Fourth defeat of league's leader Beer Yaakov (14-4) against twelfth ranked Elitzur Ramla (7-11) 87-79 was the most important game of the last round. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Beer Yaakov won third quarter 17-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Elitzur Ramla forced 21 Beer Yaakov turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a good game for American forward Ryan Bacon (200-88, college: St.Peter's, agency: Strategic Sports) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds. Swingman Ohad Cohen (193-87, agency: Ronsport) contributed with 9 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Elitzur Ramla's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Nate Miller (193-87, college: Bowling Green) replied with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 14 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Jermaine Hall (196-80, college: Wagner) added 19 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Beer Yaakov. Four Beer Yaakov players scored in double figures. Elitzur Ramla moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Ironi K-A. Beer Yaakov at the other side dropped to the second position with four games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Hapoel T-A. Beer Yaakov will play next round against strong Kiryat Tivon trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Elitzur Ramla will try to continue on its current victory against third ranked Elitzur Yavne on the road.
