Regular Season Round 9: Al Wakrah - Al Rayyan 50-72

Undefeated leader Al Rayyan delivered the ninth consecutive victory. This time they crushed 7th ranked Al Wakrah (1-8) 72-50. They outrebounded Al Wakrah 40-26 including 27 on the defensive glass. The former international power forward Yasseen Ismail (204-80) nailed 6 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side and the former international guard Hassan Mohamed (191-91) accounted for 10 points and 4 assists. Al Rayyan's coach felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. International center Mame Souleye (206-87) came up with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 13 rebounds and Senegalese guard Sobilhaj Abdu (197) added 16 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists respectively for Al Wakrah in the defeat. Al Rayyan (9-0) have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with a perfect record of 9 victories in a row. Al Wakrah lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with eight games lost. Al Rayyan's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Doha to the arena Al Ahli.
