KML top team - Tartu Ulikool (17-2) had no problems winning another game. This time they beat sixth ranked Tln Kalev (7-15) in Tallinn 70-54. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Tln Kalev. It looked good early as Tln Kalev took an 1-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Tartu Ulikool had a 17-9 second period charge getting the lead and Tln Kalev was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 54-70. Tartu Ulikool had a 29-14 advantage in offensive rebounds. The winners were led by the former international center Vallo Allingu (206-78) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds and the former international guard Valmo Kriisa (190-74) supported him with 12 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Tartu Ulikool players scored in double figures. Even 16 points and 7 rebounds by Russian center Aleksei Fedortchuk (210-86, agency: Ryzhov Stanislav) did not help to save the game for Tln Kalev. American forward Matt Shaw (203-88, college: UNLV) added 13 points and 9 rebounds for the hosts. Tartu Ulikool have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 17-2 record. Tln Kalev at the other side keeps the sixth place with 15 games lost. Tartu Ulikool will play against bottom-ranked Valga/CKE (#8) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Tln Kalev's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Tallinn to the arena TTU/Kalev.
