There was a surprise result when thirteenth ranked Navarra Pamplona (5-16) won against at home higher ranked Rivas Ecopolis (13-7) 77-68 on Wednesday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Rivas Ecopolis won fourth quarter 14-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international guard Maria Begona Garcia (175-76, agency: Josep and Nicolas) who helped to win the game recording 12 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and Serbian power forward Jovana Rad (187-87, agency: Josep and Nicolas) who added 12 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Forward Asjha Jones (188-80, college: Connecticut) responded with 16 points and 8 rebounds and international center Laura Nicholls (189-89, agency: Josep and Nicolas) scored 17 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Navarra Pamplona maintains thirteenth position with 5-16 record. Loser Rivas Ecopolis dropped to the fourth place with seven games lost. Navarra Pamplona will face higher ranked Real Celta Vigo (#12) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Rivas Ecopolis will play against Ibiza (#14).
