Regular Season Round 27: Waterloo - Laurier 45-75
Date: February 15, 2012
Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Waterloo: Laurier (#3) and Waterloo (#8). Waterloo was crushed at home by 30 points 45-75 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. The game without a history. Laurier led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They held Waterloo to an opponent 24.6 percent shooting from the field compared to 46.6 percent accuracy of the winners. Laurier forced 20 Waterloo turnovers. It was a great evening for forward Christa Mancino (185) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Laura Doyle (170) helped adding 17 points and 4 steals. Four Laurier players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was guard Marti Killeen (180) with 12 points and 5 rebounds and forward Kate Kuntze (183) scored 9 points and 8 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Laurier maintains third place with 13-8 record having four points less than leader Windsor. Waterloo lost their eighteenth game in a row. They keep the eighth position with 20 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
