Regular Season Round 8: Trotamundos - Marinos 82-84

The most exciting game of round 8 in the LPB took place in Valencia. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 6th ranked Trotamundos (3-5) to second ranked Marinos (7-1) 84-82 on Thursday evening. Trotamundos trailed by 13 points after 3 quarters before a 27-16 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 82-84 at the end of the game. Marinos held Trotamundos to an opponent 0.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 0.0 percent accuracy of the winners. 25 personal fouls committed by Trotamundos helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international swingman Oscar Torres (195-76, agency: Interperformances) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and American forward Leon Rodgers (199-80, college: N.Illinois) who added 17 points during the contest. Trotamundos at the other side keep the sixth place with five games lost. They share the position with Guaros. Marinos are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Toros (#10) in Maracay in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Trotamundos will play on the road against Bucaneros (#4) in La Guaira and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
