Melilla Baloncesto (#4) was upset in Pamplona by seventh ranked Grupo Iruna Navarra 83-75. It looked good early as Melilla Baloncesto took an 1-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Grupo Iruna Navarra had a 25-21 second period charge getting the lead and Melilla Baloncesto was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 75-83. The winners were led by guard Inaki Narros (194-81) who scored that evening 33 points (!!!) and Czech center Ondrej Starosta (215-79) supported him with 12 points and 9 rebounds. Even 19 points by guard Jose Salvador Arco (194-85) did not help to save the game for Melilla Baloncesto. American guard Troy DeVries (193-82, college: N.Mexico) added 18 points. Four Melilla Baloncesto players scored in double figures. Grupo Iruna Navarra have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Burgos. Melilla Baloncesto at the other side dropped to the sixth position with ten games lost. They share it with Lleida. Grupo Iruna Navarra will play against Leche Rio Breogan (#13) in Lugo in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Melilla Baloncesto will play at home against Ford Burgos (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
