Regular Season Round 17: Impuls BGUIR - Tsmoki-Minsk II 74-79

The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Minsk: Minsk-2006 II (#6) and BGUIR-RTI (#4). BGUIR-RTI was defeated at home 74-79 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of BGUIR-RTI. BGUIR-RTI was trailing by 10 points at halftime but managed to get 5-point lead after three quarters before a 27-17 charge of Minsk-2006 II, which allowed them to win the game. They made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. Minsk-2006 II had a 35-24 advantage in offensive rebounds. Guard Valentin Ignatchik (192) stepped up and scored 29 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and Lithuanian forward Ronaldas Rutkauskas (203-92) chipped in 21 points and 11 rebounds. Swingman Genniadiy Zakhar (198-92) responded with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds and point guard Anton Papruha (188-93) scored 20 points and 6 steals. Four BGUIR-RTI players scored in double figures. Minsk-2006 II (6-11) moved-up to fifth place, which they share with SBK Osipovichi. BGUIR-RTI at the other side keeps the fourth position with ten games lost. Minsk-2006 II is looking forward to face league's leader Grodno-93 at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. BGUIR-RTI will have a break next round.
