An interesting game for Citadines (7-7) which hosted in Montreal, QC 4th placed Rouge et Or (4-9). Third ranked Citadines managed to get a 14-point victory 74-60. The game was mostly controlled by Citadines. Rouge et Or was better in third quarter 18-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Citadines shot 19 for 29 from the free-throw line, while Rouge et Or only scored three points from the stripe. Citadines forced 19 Rouge et Or turnovers. 28 personal fouls committed by Rouge et Or helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Guard Eric Cote-Kougnima (193-88) fired 19 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Forward Alexandre Bernard chipped in 15 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Four Citadines players scored in double figures. Hugues Ryan produced 17 points and 8 rebounds and swingman Etienne Labrecque (196-86, college: Quinnipiac) added 14 points and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Citadines maintains third place with 7-7 record having twenty one points less than leader Saskatchewan. Rouge et Or at the other side keeps the fourth position with nine games lost. Citadines will have a break next round. Rouge et Or will play at home against Gaiters (#5) in Lennoxville, QC and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
