Regular Season Round 19: Porvoon Tarmo - Pyrinto II 86-80

Another exciting game was between eighth ranked Porvoon Tarmo and 4th placed Pyrinto II where host Porvoon Tarmo (8-11) won against Pyrinto II (13-6) 86-80. It looked good early as Pyrinto II took an 8-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Porvoon Tarmo took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 6 points. Porvoon Tarmo dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Pyrinto II's 28. They outrebounded Pyrinto II 46-26 including a 18-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Jerrah Young (202-85, college: Toledo) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 23 points and 16 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Shawn Henderson (190-88, college: Idaho) contributed with 22 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Young is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Porvoon Tarmo players scored in double figures. Guard Jukka-Pekka Vaananen (195-84) answered with 25 points and 7 rebounds and swingman Osku Heinonen (194-92) added 18 points in the effort for Pyrinto II. Porvoon Tarmo have a solid series of three victories in a row. Porvoon Tarmo moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Huima and Ura Basket. Newly promoted Pyrinto II keeps the fourth position with six games lost. They share it with BC Nokia. Porvoon Tarmo will play against Ura Basket (#9) in Kaarina in the next round. Pyrinto II will play at home against Lapuan Korikobrat (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
