Regular Season Round 20: Spirou - Liege 87-75

Very predictable result when first ranked Spirou Charleroi (13-5) won against at home 7th ranked Belgacom Liege (6-11) 87-75 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Spirou Charleroi. Belgacom Liege was better in fourth quarter 23-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great shooting night for Spirou Charleroi especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.9 percentage. American players dominated the game. Swingman Dwayne Broyles (196-82, college: JMU, agency: Higher Vision Sports) orchestrated the victory by scoring 26 points and 6 rebounds. Forward Caleb Green (203-85, college: ORU) contributed with 18 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Forward Josh Bostic (196-87, college: Findlay, OH) replied with 24 points and 5 assists and forward Terrence Jennings (205-88, college: Louisville) added 13 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Belgacom Liege. Four Belgacom Liege players scored in double figures. Defending champion maintains first position with 13-5 record. Belgacom Liege at the other side keeps the seventh place with 11 games lost. Spirou Charleroi will face Antwerp Giants (#4) on the road in the next round. Belgacom Liege will play against Optima Gent and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
