Regular Season Round 33: KTP - Nilan Bisons 82-81

The most exciting game of round 33 in the Korisliiga took place in Kotka. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of second-best Loimaan Korikonkarit (20-8) to sixth ranked KTP-Basket (13-17) 82-81 on Friday evening. Loimaan Korikonkarit cut a 18-point first quarter deficit to one at the end of the game. American forward Tim Blue (205-84, college: Middle Tenn.St.) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and his fellow American import swingman Tony Crocker (201-87, college: Oklahoma) chipped in 22 points and 5 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American guard Martin Zeno (196-85, college: Texas Tech) with 20 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists and forward Matti Nuutinen (200-90) scored 19 points and 9 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. KTP-Basket maintains sixth place with 13-17 record. Loimaan Korikonkarit at the other side keeps the second position with eight games lost. KTP-Basket are looking forward to face higher ranked Torpan Pojat (#5) in Helsinki in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Loimaan Korikonkarit will have a break next round.
