Rather predictable result when fifth ranked Sydney Uni Flames (13-9) defeated at home bottom-ranked West Coast Waves (2-20) 79-67 on Friday. West Coast Waves were tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Sydney Uni Flames forced 20 West Coast Waves turnovers and outrebounded them 38-21 including a 28-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. The former international forward Belinda Snell (181-81) scored 19 points and 8 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American forward Amy Denson (186-84, college: Arizona St.) chipped in 12 points and 13 rebounds during the contest. Four Sydney Uni Flames players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was the former international forward Rohanee Cox (182-80) with 20 points and 7 rebounds and guard Jasmine Hooper (177-91) scored 13 points. West Coast Waves' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Sydney Uni Flames moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Townsville F. West Coast Waves lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
