The most exciting game of round 16 in the JBL took place in Saporro. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of much higher ranked Aishin Sea Horses (23-9) to sixth ranked Hokkaido L. (14-18) 70-68 on Saturday evening. The hosts trailed by 3 points after three quarters before their 22-17 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international guard Takehiko Orimo (190-70) who helped to win the game recording 21 points. German power forward Tilo Klette (206-77) contributed with 14 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four Hokkaido L. players scored in double figures. The former international power forward J.R. Sakuragi (206-76, college: UCLA) replied with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists and Jamaican center Kevin Young (206-84, college: Missouri) added 16 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Aishin Sea Horses. Hokkaido L. maintains sixth position with 14-18 record. Defending champion Aishin Sea Horses still keep top place with nine games lost. They share the position with Toyota Alvark. Hokkaido L. are looking forward to face Mitsubishi Dolphins (#7) in Nagoya in the next round. Aishin Sea Horses will play on the road against Tochigi Brex (#5) and are hoping to win this game.
