There was no surprise when 13th ranked Borgotaro (4-14) was crushed at home by second ranked Vigarano (15-3) 71-51 on Saturday. The game without a history. Vigarano led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Borgotaro's 24. Forward Eleonora Laffi (188-83) fired a double-double by scoring 29 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Center Gloria Vian (190-89) chipped in 11 points and 5 rebounds. Vigarano's coach Raffaele Ravagni used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Silvia Martini (178-87) produced 18 points and 8 rebounds and Hungarian swingman Judit Fritz (183-87, college: St.Francis, NY) added 8 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. Vigarano keeps a position of North leader, which they share with Bologna. Loser Borgotaro keeps the thirteenth place with 14 games lost. Vigarano will face Virtus Cagliari (#7) at home in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Borgotaro will play against the league's leader Meccanica NB (#1) in Bologna.
