An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Ostrow Wlkp.. Third ranked BM Wegiel Stal faced second-ranked Pogon Prudnik. Host BM Wegiel Stal (15-5) smashed guests from Prudnik (14-6) 87-54. It was a key game for the second position in Group B. The game without a history. BM Wegiel Stal led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists comparing to just 3 passes made by Pogon Prudnik's players. BM Wegiel Stal brought some defensive toughness making 15 blocks. Guard Marcin Dymala (185-90) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 assists. Forward Jakub Dryjanski (201-82) contributed with 22 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Four BM Wegiel Stal players scored in double figures. Guard Szymon Kucia (190-83) replied with 10 points and 5 rebounds and forward Jaroslaw Pawlowski (194-80) added 4 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Pogon Prudnik. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. BM Wegiel Stal have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place in Group B. Pogon Prudnik at the other side dropped to the third position with six games lost. BM Wegiel Stal will play against WKK Obiekty (#5) in Wroclaw in the next round. Pogon Prudnik will play at home against AZS AGH Alstom in Krakow and hopes to get back on the winning track.
