There was a minor upset when 9th ranked Gernika (7-11) was defeated on the road by twelfth ranked Cravic Reus (7-12) 69-64 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 1 point after three quarters before their 20-14 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Cravic Reus outrebounded Gernika 41-28 including 17 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was Senegalese forward Awa Doumbia (182-79) who scored 27 points and 8 rebounds. Guard Estela Rubio (172-86) chipped in 22 points and 5 rebounds. American forward Tynikki Crook (185-89, college: Marshall) produced 9 points and 10 rebounds and her fellow American import guard Alysha Harvin (178-88, college: Florida St.) added 10 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. Gernika's coach Mario Lopez let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Cravic Reus maintains twelfth position in Group B with 7-12 record. Gernika lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the ninth place with 11 games lost. Cravic Reus will face higher ranked ASEFA Estudiantes (#9) in Madrid in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
