There was a minor upset when 12th ranked Pall.Piemonte (5-15) was defeated at home by fourteenth ranked Biassono (3-14) 67-55 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 7 points at the halftime before their 41-22 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Biassono dominated on the defensive end, holding Pall.Piemonte to just 7 points in fourth quarter. They also forced 22 Pall.Piemonte turnovers. Guard Virginia Galbiati (173-92) fired 25 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Swingman Sara Canova (174-89) chipped in 11 points and 9 rebounds. Biassono's coach Valerio Signorini used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Center Clara Salvini (180-92) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds and forward Antonella Simonetti (171-80) added 8 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Biassono maintains fourteenth place in North with 3-14 record. Pall.Piemonte lost their third game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the twelfth position with 15 games lost. Biassono will face higher ranked Milano (#3) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
