No shocking result in a game when third ranked Hitachi Sunrockers (19-13) beat bottom-ranked Toshiba Thunders (4-28) in Kanagawa 71-55 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 5 points at the halftime before their 39-18 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Hitachi Sunrockers dominated on the defensive end, holding Toshiba Thunders to just 6 points in fourth quarter. It was a very good performance for international power forward Joji Takeuchi (206-85, agency: N.E.T.) who helped to win the game recording 7 points, 15 rebounds and 6 assists. Guard Daisuke Kobayashi (188-87) contributed with 12 points for the winners. Four Hitachi Sunrockers players scored in double figures. American forward Chris Moss (204-80, college: W.Virginia) replied with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds and point guard Ryusei Shinoyama (178-88) added 12 points and 4 assists in the effort for Toshiba Thunders. Toshiba Thunders' coach let to play thirteen players seeing no chance for a win. Hitachi Sunrockers maintains third position with 19-13 record having four points less than leader Toyota Alvark, which they share with Panasonic T. Loser Toshiba Thunders stay dead last with 28 lost games.
