The game in Al Wakrah supposed to be also worth to mention about. Fifth ranked Al Jaysh (6-4) played at the court of 7th ranked Al Wakrah (1-9). Al Jaysh smashed Al Wakrah 77-49. Al Jaysh dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Al Wakrah's 32. Al Jaysh forced 21 Al Wakrah turnovers and outrebounded them 43-20 including a 16-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. Naturalized Lebanese guard Fadi Hani (184) notched a double-double by scoring 17 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and international forward Baker Ahmad (199-86) supported him with 15 points and 4 assists. Four Al Jaysh players scored in double figures. Al Jaysh's coach felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 18 points and 7 rebounds by American guard Darren Kelly (195-78, college: Texas) did not help to save the game for Al Wakrah. Senegalese guard Sobilhaj Abdu (197) added 17 points for lost side. Al Jaysh moved-up to third place, which they share with Al Gharrafah and Al Arabi. Al Wakrah lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with nine games lost. Al Jaysh's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Doha to the arena Al Rayyan.
