There was no surprise when 13th ranked Plasencia Extremadura (3-12) was defeated at home by seventh ranked Prat Juventud (9-7) 69-62. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 23-9. But Plasencia Extremadura won second period 20-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Prat Juventud forced 21 Plasencia Extremadura turnovers. Forward Alejandro Barrera (199-92) nailed 23 points for the winning side and Montenegrin forward Marko Todorovic (203-92) accounted for 9 points and 9 rebounds. Guard Francisco Robles (195-81) came up with 25 points and forward Joseba Iglesias (201-83) added 9 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Plasencia Extremadura in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Prat Juventud moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Barca Regal II and Aurteneche M. Plasencia Extremadura at the other side stay at the bottom position with 12 games lost. Prat Juventud's next round opponent will be higher ranked Leyma Basquet (#3) in Coruna and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Plasencia Extremadura will play on the road against the league's leader River Andorra (#1).
