Everything went according to plan when first ranked Trento (17-7) defeated at home 6th ranked Santarcangelo (6-17) 82-66 on Saturday. The game without a history. Trento led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Trento outrebounded Santarcangelo 36-25 including 24 on the defensive glass. It was a great shooting night for Trento especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.9 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a very good performance for center Marco Pazzi (203-79) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists. Forward Davide Pascolo (200-90) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 16 rebounds for the winners. Trento's coach Maurizio Buscaglia used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Center Andrea Ancellotti (212-88) answered with 9 points and 11 rebounds and guard Matteo Palermo (190-91) added 10 points and 5 assists in the effort for Santarcangelo. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Trento maintains first place with 17-7 record, which they share with Trieste. Newly promoted Santarcangelo keeps the sixth position with 17 games lost. Trento will face Comsum.it SI (#4) in Siena in the next round. Santarcangelo will play at home against Perugia.
