The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Pais Vasco as it allowed them to take a leadership position in Group B. Pais Vasco defeated 14th ranked Segle XXI in San Sebastian 72-59. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 7-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 72-59. The best player for the winners was point guard Maria Gomez (170-82) who had a double-double by scoring 13 points, 5 rebounds, 11 assists and 4 steals. Brazilian center Geisa Campos (188-79) chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds. Five Pais Vasco players scored in double figures.
