There was an upset in Melbourne where second-best Bulleen Boomers (15-7) were crushed by seventh ranked Logan Thunder (12-10) 90-65 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Logan Thunder. Bulleen Boomers was better in second period 19-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Logan Thunder dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Bulleen Boomers' 38. Logan Thunder forced 19 Bulleen Boomers turnovers. International center Cayla Francis (192-89) had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and guard Sarah Graham (163-89) chipped in 17 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Four Logan Thunder players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was international guard Rachel Jarry (185-91) with 19 points and 5 assists and power forward Tayla Roberts (191-93) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Logan Thunder moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Bendigo S. Defending champion Bulleen Boomers keep the second position with seven games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
