Regular Season Round 7: Pure Youth - Yulon Luxgen 63-85

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Pure Youth (12-4) against third ranked Yulon Luxgen on Saturday night. Yulon Luxgen were rolled over by third ranked Yulon Luxgen (11-5) 85-63. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. The game was mostly controlled by Yulon Luxgen. Pure Youth managed to win second period 21-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Yulon Luxgen dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Pure Youth's 40. Yulon Luxgen forced 20 Pure Youth turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Kevin Johnson (201-84, college: Humboldt St., agency: Hart Sports Mngm) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points and 16 rebounds. International Po-Chen Chou (197-90) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. American power forward Quincy Davis (206-83, college: Tulane) answered with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds and the former international swingman Hsin-An Chen (196-80) added 11 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Pure Youth. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Yulon Luxgen have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place. Pure Youth at the other side still keeps top position with four games lost. Yulon Luxgen are looking forward to face Taiwan Mobile (#5) in the next round. Pure Youth will play against Taiwan Beer (#4) and is hoping to win this game.
