No shocking result in a game in Ottawa where second ranked Carleton (17-5) smashed 5th ranked Ryerson (11-11) 80-42 on Saturday. The game without a history. Carleton led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They held Ryerson to an opponent 19.6 percent shooting from the field compared to 39.3 percent accuracy of the winners and made 28-of-37 free shots (75.7 percent) during the game. Ryerson was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was guard Alyson Bush (170) who scored 20 points. Guard Elizabeth Roach (173) chipped in 13 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Carleton players scored in double figures. Carleton's coach Taffe Charles felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Angela Tilk (175) produced 21 points and 9 rebounds and guard Ashley Macdonald (160) added 9 points respectively for the guests. Carleton have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. They maintain second place with 17-5 record having just two points less than leader Regina. Loser Ryerson dropped to the fourth position with 11 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
