Regular Season Round 29: Concordia - McGill 60-49

Top ranked McGill (10-4) recorded its fourth loss in Montreal on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by second ranked Concordia (8-6) 60-49. It ended at the same time the eight-game winning streak of McGill. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. The game without a history. Concordia led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Concordia forced 23 McGill turnovers. The best player for the winners was guard Kaylah Barrett (173) who scored 17 points and 6 rebounds. Forward Andreanne Gregoire-Boudreau (170) chipped in 8 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Guard Francoise Charest (168) produced 12 points and 7 rebounds and Panamanian forward Anneth Him-Lazarenko (178) added 9 points respectively for the guests. McGill's coach Ryan Thorne rotated twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Concordia maintains second place with 8-6 record having nineteen points less than leader Regina. McGill at the other side still keeps top position with four games lost. Concordia are looking forward to face Laval (#4) in Quebec City in the next round. McGill's supporters also look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Montreal to the arena UQAM.
