No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Orvieto (11-5) defeated on the road 9th ranked Battipaglia (6-12) 60-54 on Saturday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Battipaglia won third quarter 17-12. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Orvieto won last quarter 19-14. They made 16-of-18 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. Orvieto outrebounded Battipaglia 33-20 including a 27-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Swingman Lisa Tripalo (180-87) fired a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Center Licia Filippetti (185-86) chipped in 11 points and 6 rebounds. Four Orvieto players scored in double figures. point guard Marie D'alie Raelin (168-87) produced 16 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and power forward Hairin Ribezzo (184-79) added 9 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. The victory was the third consecutive win for Orvieto. They maintain fifth place in South with 11-5 record. Battipaglia lost their fourth game in a row. They dropped to the tenth position with 12 games lost. Orvieto will face league's second-placed T. La Spezia at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Battipaglia will play against Pomezia (#11) in Roma and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
