Regular Season Round 20: Wildcats - Kings 91-74
Date: February 19, 2012
Very expected game when 7th ranked Kings (8-14) lost on the road to second ranked Perth Wildcats (15-7) 91-74 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Perth Wildcats. Kings managed to win third quarter 22-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Perth Wildcats forced 24 Kings turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Kings' players. The winners were led by international forward Jesse Wagstaff (203-86, college: Metro St.) who scored that evening 25 points and 8 rebounds and American guard Kevin Lisch (188-86, college: St.Louis, agency: Warren Sports International) supported him with 19 points. Perth Wildcats' coach Rob Beveridge used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Even 16 points and 6 rebounds by naturalized Kazakhstan swingman Anatoly Bose (200-88, college: Nicholls St., agency: Priority Sports) did not help to save the game for Kings. American power forward Jerai Grant (203-89, college: Clemson) added 12 points and 9 rebounds for the guests. Defending champion maintains second position with 15-7 record behind leader Breakers. Kings lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with 14 games lost. Perth Wildcats will meet at home Cairns Taipans (#4) in the next round. Kings will play against Townsville Crocodiles in Wulguru and hope to secure a win.
