Regular Season Round 17: Aurteneche M. - Las Rozas 80-91

The biggest surprise of round 17 in LEB Silver was guest Las Rozas' (10-6) road victory over 4th placed Aurteneche M. (9-7) 91-80 on Sunday evening. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 6-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 91-80. Las Rozas made 24-of-28 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. They also forced 23 Aurteneche M. turnovers. The best player for the winners was center Jose Balmon (204-81) who scored 25 points and 8 rebounds. Swingman Ruben Martinez (196-85) chipped in 18 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 6 steals. Four Las Rozas players scored in double figures. Las Rozas' coach Alonso de Madariaga used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. point guard Ander Ortiz (185-80) produced 28 points and 4 assists and guard Ander Arruti (189-90) added 18 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Las Rozas moved-up to fourth place. Aurteneche M. lost third consecutive game. Aurteneche M. at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the fifth position with seven games lost. They share it with Barca Regal II and Prat Juventud. Las Rozas are looking forward to face Gandia Basquet (#12) in Valencia in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Aurteneche M. will play on the road against Feve Oviedo (#10) and is hoping to win this game.
