Everything went according to plan when sixth ranked Shimane Magic (19-15) defeated at home 10th ranked Iwate Big Bulls (9-25) 82-64. The hosts were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. Shimane Magic dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Iwate Big Bulls' 28. Shimane Magic had a 34-20 advantage in offensive rebounds. They brought some defensive toughness making 10 blocks. The best player for the winners was American forward Michael Parker (202-81, college: Evergreen St.) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 12 rebounds. The other American import center Jeral Davis (216-84) chipped in a double-double by scoring 17 points, 10 rebounds and 8 blocks. Davis is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Shimane Magic players scored in double figures. American forward Jamal Boykin (203-87, college: California) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 14 rebounds and Guyanese-American forward Gordon Klaiber (206-83, college: Fair Dickinson) added 13 points and 13 rebounds respectively for the guests. Iwate Big Bulls' coach Shinji Tomiyama rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Shimane Magic maintains sixth position with 19-15 record. Iwate Big Bulls lost third consecutive game.
