Regular Season Round 32: Dalhousie - Cape Breton 68-73

Date: February 19, 2012
There was no surprise in Halifax, NS where 6th ranked Tigers (8-10) were defeated by fourth ranked Capers (11-8) 73-68 on Sunday. Tigers were tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Capers made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. Strangely Tigers outrebounded Capers 47-30 including a 18-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Jimmy Dorsey (188) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points, 8 rebounds, 10 assists and 4 steals (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) and guard Al Alilovic (198) who added 15 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Bahamas forward Robert Nortmann (198) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds and forward Sam Williams (196) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Capers maintains fourth position with 11-8 record. Tigers at the other side keep the sixth place with ten games lost. Capers will face league's second-placed Panthers in Charlottetown, PEI in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Tigers will play at home against Varsity Reds (#7) in Fredericton, NB and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
