Regular Season Round 17: Ourense - FCB Regal II 79-69

No shocking result in a game when second ranked Ourense (11-5) defeated at home 5th ranked Barca Regal II (9-7) 79-69. The game was mostly controlled by Ourense. Barca Regal II was better in second period 23-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Ourense dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Barca Regal II's 30. American forward Matthew Webster (203-84, college: Evansville) nailed 24 points (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!) for the winning side and American-Dominican guard Ruben Guillandeaux (198-88, college: La Salle) accounted for 14 points and 4 assists. Swedish swingman Marcus Eriksson (196-93) came up with 19 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Josep Perez (183-94) added 16 points respectively for Barca Regal II in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the third consecutive win for Ourense. They maintain second place with 11-5 record having just one points less than leader Andorra. Barca Regal II at the other side keeps the fifth position with seven games lost. Ourense's next round opponent will be Tenerife (#11) on the road and are hoping to win another game. Barca Regal II will play against Lan Mobel ISB (#8) in Azpeitia.
